As part of our Workplace Wellbeing activities, 2015 has been designated as Year of Fitness at Fenero!
Ireland’s first National Workplace Wellbeing Day will be taking place on Friday 27thMarch 2015. This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of Workplace Wellbeing issues and Fenero are proud supporters of this day.
WELLBEING AT FENERO
We take a holistic approach to wellbeing and believe that physical and mental wellbeing are instrincially linked. We have a strong culture based on support, respect and openness around the issue of mental health.
We also provide our people and their immediate families with free access to a 24 hour confidential telephone support line managed by specialist clinical professionals. Face-to-face counselling services are also available free to our people for times when telephone support is not enough.
We also support and encourage physical fitness activities. All of our staff are provided with free gym membership. We also promote physical social activities such as our Pitch and Putt and Ten Pin Bowling socials.
FITNESS AT FENERO!
In 2015 we are stepping this up a notch with a year long fitness campaign to encourage our people to keep up with their walking and running activities. We are doing this through our involvement in a series of fun 5k and 10k races, such as the Color Run, the Flora Mini Marathon, Run for your Lives and Mo Running.
All of our team took part in a health check at the start of January, to measure cholesterol, blood sugar levels and BMI amongst others. We are repeating the same health check again in June to monitor our progress. And the most improved person at that time will win a stay in a luxury spa hotel!
MY1000HOURS/IRISH INDEPENDENT RUN
Training is already well underway and we are kicking off with our first race on 7thMarch, when we participate in the My 1000 Hours/Irish Independent Run in the Phoenix Park. My1000 Hours is a blog by Niall Breslin which explores ways to improve both physical and emotional fitness in a holistic manner and to encourage mental health awareness. This is very much in line with our own attititude towards wellbeing and is a fitting start for our Year of Fitness. We are delighted to be using this event to kick start our own efforts at keeping health and wellbeing firmly on the agenda during 2015.
As we know that your chances of sticking to a fitness regime are much greater when you have someone else doing it with you, Fenero are covering the entry fee for all employees who wish to participate and also a friend/partner who wants to join in as a training buddy! We are also sharing the My1000 Hours 8 week suggested training schedule published each week to help keep us all on track between now and March!
And for our contractor clients, we are taking this one step further – let us pay for your entry! Simply send us your Race Entry Confirmation and we will reduce our next management fee by the entry cost! Get the new year off to a healthy start and sign up!
